World Handicap System - Update 1

Dear Members,

As I am sure many of you are aware, the new World Handicap System (WHS) comes into effect later this year. This is a big change to the way handicaps are administered, so, over the coming weeks, we will be regularly emailing out communications to members with information about the various components of the new handicap system.

England Golf have launched their ‘Know the Score’ campaign, which is designed to provide golf clubs and their members with all the information required to understand the upcoming changes.

Please find a link below to a useful document from Golf Monthly, which provides an initial overview of the new system. There will undoubtedly be questions raised from this document but we hope that these questions will be answered by the information we send out in the coming weeks as we share information from England Golf’s ‘Know the Score’ campaign with you.

As you will read, a key component of the WHS is the Slope Rating of the course. We are having our course rated by England Golf this week and are therefore, unable to provide any information on what our rating will/might be at this stage. As soon as we have this information, we will, of course, communicate it to our members.
