
1. STARTING TIMES
1.1 Members may book tee times up to 9 days in advance for both weekend bookings and midweek bookings. Members should provide at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. For club knockout competitions bookings may be made two weeks in advance through the golf shop.
1.2 Block bookings will not be accepted unless approved by the management.
1.3 The above conditions apply to bookings made online and through the golf shop.
1.4 On monthly medal weekends, the tee will be available for normal bookings only after the medal participants have teed off.
1.5 On Tuesdays, Lady members have priority from the 1st tee between 08.00 and 11.00.
1.6 The Course Manager has the right and duty to close the course, limit starting times, or take any other action that he sees fit in order to maintain or protect the course from damage. In extreme weather conditions, the course may not open.
2. GENERAL
2.1 The Rules of Golf and Local Rules shall apply at all times.
2.2 The decisions of the Management or Committee are final.
2.3 All matches will start from the 1st tee at weekends.
2.4 Priority on the course is to be determined by a group’s pace of play and it is a group’s responsibility to keep up with the group in front. If a group loses a clear hole and is delaying the group behind, it should invite the group behind to play through irrespective of the number of players in the group.
2.5 Official Club matches and competitions have priority.
3. COMPETITIONS
3.1 Entries for competitions are only valid if payment is made before teeing off.
3.2 Failure to meet tee-times - lateness will be liable to penalty in accordance with Rules of Golf 5.3a, and absence without notification may result in the offender being banned from the next two Club competitions (or as decided by the relevant Golf Committee).
3.3 Slow Play – Rules of Golf 5.6 shall apply. Please remember, if there is a clear hole in front of your game, you must allow the game behind through if they are waiting to play shots. The Committee consider that a medal round of golf should take no longer than 4 hours.
3.4 When inclement weather causes the loss of a day, or part of a day, or causes flag positions to be changed, the competition will be cancelled or postponed.
3.5 The conditions or formats of competitions are to be published at least seven days before the event.
3.6 In all knockout match play events, it will be the responsibility of both parties to arrange the relevant match. Three dates are to be offered for 7 Day matches with at least two of the dates being on separate weekends. For midweek matches, all dates MUST be weekdays (not bank holidays). Failure to comply - matches which are not played before the round deadline may result in one or both parties being eliminated. The competition organiser’s decision on elimination, following consultation with the relevant Committee, will be final.
3.7 In the event of a tied score in the Gentlemen’s or Ladies’ Club Championship, the result will be decided by a four hole play-off using holes 1, 16, 17 and 18 in that order. If the scores are still tied after the play-off, a sudden death play-off will then take place over the preceding holes.
3.8 Scorecards returned for competitions are to be placed in the box provided on the same day, except when other arrangements are specified in the competition.
3.9 The Committee, with Management’s approval, may suspend restrictions on 5 Day Men, Ladies and Juniors for certain competitions and matches.
3.10 The relevant Committee reserves the right to waive the regulation concerning practice on the course for stroke play competitions, team competitions and all social club events. This will be notified by email or written in the competition rules.
3.11 Players wishing to use a motorised golf cart (aka Buggy) in an authorised competition must have obtained prior approval from their relevant section committee to be granted Buggy Permission citing a valid reason for requiring use of a buggy. Buggy Permissions will be reviewed on a six-monthly basis with the player to check the valid reason is still pertinent.
3.12 In Competitions, a Marker must be a player with a registered Handicap Index, unless agreed otherwise by the Committee.
4. JUNIORS
4.1 Juniors may enter Monthly Medals providing they meet the handicap requirements of the relevant section.
5. COMPETITION AND MEDAL PRIZE MONEY
5.1 All prizes will be calculated based on 60% of entry fees less any direct expenses, such as meals etc.
5.2 Prize money will be paid out as a credit on the member’s bar card.
5.3 All queries regarding prize money should be directed to the treasurer in the first instance.
5.4 2s competitions are organised by the golf shop and prizes will be paid out as a credit to the member’s pro shop card
6. NON-MEMBERS
6.1 Visitors will be permitted to play when the tee sheet allows after 11.00 and tee times may be booked up to 7 days in advance.
6.2 Members will be allowed to bring guests before 11.00, except during competitions.
7. DRESS AND EQUIPMENT
7.1 On the Course – All players must have their own bag and clubs and must be wearing golf shoes. Notices regarding Summer and Winter rules relating to dress, shoes and trolleys must be observed.
7.2 Members and guests must adhere to the club’s dress code policy for requirements on the course and in the clubhouse. Exact details of this can be found in the Club's Dress Code policy document.
8. INSURANCE
8.1 It is the responsibility of each individual Member and/or Golfer to make sure they are adequately insured for any loss, damage of injury howsoever caused while at Badgemore Park Golf Club.
8.2 The Proprietors, Management and Staff of the Club will not accept any responsibility or liability for loss of equipment and/or property, or injury sustained by yourself or caused to other people while on Badgemore Park Golf Club land.
9. HANDICAP INDEX
9.1 A valid Handicap Index is a pre-requisite to entering organised competitions
9.2 New players are required to follow WHS guidance in order to gain an initial Handicap Index. This is done through playing any combination of 9 and 18 holes totalling 54 holes of pre-registered golf, played under the rules of golf and witnessed by a marker.
10.PRACTISING ON THE COURSE
10.1 Single golfers are, at non-busy times, permitted to play 2 balls whilst playing the course in the normal way, but in the interest of keeping the condition of the course at the highest standard possible, pitching and chipping of multiple balls from fairways, approaches and green surrounds, or practicing with multiple balls out of bunkers or on the course greens is not permitted.
